Solly robot

Hands-on with solar power

Solly the sun-eating robot

It all starts with Solly, the sun-eating robot. He can ‘eat’ solar rays with the solar panels in his mouth. Children can collect their own solar energy using Solly. Solly shows how much energy he is collecting through direct feedback. This way, children can discover the best way to collect solar power hands-on. The energy that Solly collects can be transferred to other devices using USB, such as small fans and LEDs, or your own BYOR (Build Your Own Robot) creations!

Solly and accessories

The Solly-robot and the accessories allow children to generate, transport, accumulate and use energy in an active, playful way. It all starts with Solly, the sun-eating robot. He can ‘eat’ solar rays with the solar panels in his mouth. He can transport this energy to USB devices. The energy collected by Solly can be transferred directly or accumulated using a powerbank.

Connect!

The Solly-robot connects to the internet, sending data about how much he has eaten. Kids can get more insight about the generation of solar energy and they can earn Solly-tokens for in the Solly-video game.

Build Your Own Solly

Aside from buying a fully assembled Solly, there will be options to buy seperate parts and assemble Solly yourself. There will be electronic parts and (3D-printed) housing parts. You can also choose to build a totally different solar collecting robot/device, from other materials. Ideal to combine with BYOR (Build Your Own Robot) and create interactive, solar collecting robots!
